History and Past Presidents The Florida Automotive Industry Association is a statewide automotive aftermarket association dedicated to serving the needs of it's members. It is owned by the membership and operated through a Board of Directors and Officers, elected by the membership on a geographical basis. Eligible members for FAIA are wholesale distributors, jobbers, service facilities (general repair, tire dealers, paint & body, transmission, muffler shops, etc.), engine rebuilders and machine shops and manufacturers. The automotive aftermarket in Florida includes over 24,000 independent businesses that employee over 150,000 employees. The Association is based on the idea that the Alliance of Automotive businesses can better serve their own interest together rather than separately. Together we can provide a variety of products and services unique to our industry, which will enhance our prosperity and further our collective interest. FAIA was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1954 as the Florida Automotive Wholesalers Association. Through the association, members can buy products and services, such as business forms, workers' compensation, health insurance, and credit card processing at volume pricing. Through this volume buying, the small independent business can buy products and services as competitive as the big retailers. Due to the diversity of FAWA's growing membership, in 1995 FAWA voted to change its name to a dba of Florida Automotive Industry Association (FAIA). FAIA has 54 years of success in representing its members. FAIA has as its objectives a cooperative relationship between the various wholesalers, repair facilities and manufacturers in Florida to develop and establish practical methods for growth of the independent automotive business. Our goal is service to our members giving them an opportunity to compete at the highest levels of profitability. FAIA Past Presidents:
